Preventing the Unseen: XEMC and Xiangtan Fire Rescue Brigade Conduct Party-Building Activity + Fire Drill to Strengthen Safety Defenses
To deepen the integration of Party building with workplace safety and comprehensively enhance fire safety management at the plant, on the morning of May 28, XEMC partnered with the Xiangtan Fire Rescue Brigade to carry out a Party branch joint-building event and fire evacuation and rescue drill, themed "Party Building Leading the Way, Co‑Creating Safety." The activity, held at the company’s safety experience hall and coil workshop, aimed to use learning to promote practice and use drills to build defenses. Together, they worked to establish the Party‑building safety brand of "Blue Shield, Advancing Lotus" and "Blue Shield, Guardian Lotus," laying a solid safety foundation for the company’s high‑quality development.

Attendees included Tan Zhibin, Party Committee Member and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of XEMC; Li Jun, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (XEMC); Yang Xin and Zhu Yongchao, Party Committee Members and Deputy Commanders of the Xiangtan Fire Rescue Brigade, as well as relevant personnel from both sides.
During the event, Party members from the Fire Supervision and Policy & Regulations Section Branch and the Firefighting and Special Disaster Rescue Branch of the Xiangtan Fire Rescue Brigade went deep into the workshop to conduct fire‑hazard inspections and provide safety guidance, thereby improving the company’s self‑inspection and self‑correction capabilities. They also visited the company’s safety experience hall, where they tried VR simulations, smoke‑heat escape exercises, fire‑extinguishing practice, and other activities, exchanging experience on safety management. Both sides held in‑depth discussions on Party‑building collaboration, fire management, hazard rectification, and policy consultation, resolving potential risks at the front end.

Subsequently, a fire evacuation and rescue drill was conducted, simulating a fire scenario in the impregnation section of the coil workshop at the XEMC Manufacturing Center.

A sudden fire broke out in the workshop, spreading rapidly. On‑site staff immediately reported the incident and initiated preliminary emergency measures. Under evacuation guidance, all personnel quickly and orderly withdrew to a safe area. Rescue vehicles and personnel from the Xiangtan Fire Rescue Brigade promptly arrived at the scene, with firefighters skillfully operating high‑pressure water hoses and fire‑fighting equipment to accurately suppress the flames and extinguish the fire. Concurrently, tasks such as cordoning off the area, head‑count checks, temporary first aid for the injured, and equipment protection were carried out. The entire drill was compact, efficient, realistic, and focused, successfully completing all planned procedures including fire reporting, personnel evacuation, initial fire‑fighting, professional rescue, emergency medical aid, and on‑site debriefing. The exercise thoroughly tested the scientific rigor, practicality, and operability of XEMC’s fire safety emergency plan.
Yang Xin stated that the fire drill was well‑organized, responsive, and procedurally standardized, fully demonstrating XEMC’s high awareness of safety responsibility and strong emergency‑response capabilities, achieving the expected goal of using drills to prepare for emergencies and using exercises to enhance prevention. He expressed hope that both sides would use Party‑branch joint‑building as a link to continue deepening safety collaboration and jointly reinforce the fire safety defense line.
Li Jun thanked the municipal fire rescue brigade for its strong support of XEMC’s fire‑safety work. He noted that XEMC would take this drill as a new starting point to reinforce responsibility and build a full‑staff defense line; strengthen source‑control and thoroughly investigate potential hazards; and use drills to enhance emergency response capabilities. By transforming the advantages of Party building into effective safety governance, the company will make every effort to prevent and mitigate fire risks, adhere to the bottom line of workplace safety, and create a secure and stable environment for its high‑quality development.
