Ninety Years Young, Striving for a Century | XEMC Employee Walkathon Successfully Held

A spirited spring breeze heralds a new journey, as strides of vigor march toward the centennial. To promote widespread participation in fitness activities among employees, enrich their cultural life, and advocate a positive, healthy lifestyle, XEMC held the 2026 Employee Walkathon titled “Ninety Years Young, Striving for a Century” on April 27. Led by members of the Group’s Party Committee leadership and senior executives, along with heads of various units and trade union chairs, nearly 600 employees from all fronts of the company set off with high morale. They measured the journey of development with their steps and showcased the vitality and responsibility of a state-owned enterprise, embarking together on a beautiful journey of health and progress.

Shu Yuan, Deputy Party Secretary, Chair of the Trade Union, and Employee Director of XEMC, delivered an opening speech, extending warm Labor Day greetings to all hardworking employees. He expressed hope that the walkathon would mark a new beginning, with the 90th anniversary of the factory serving as a fresh starting point. He encouraged everyone to carry forward the 90-year legacy of XEMC, anchor themselves to the development blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan, and continue writing a new chapter in the story of “Centennial XEMC, Driving the World.”

Liu Xinxin, a model worker and craftsman representative of the company and a National Model Worker, read out the initiative. He called on every XEMC employee to integrate fitness into daily life, bring health into everyday routines, and compose a magnificent chapter of endeavor with a strong physique.

Zhang Yuelei, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of XEMC, and Chairman of Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (XEMC), officially announced the start of the event.

Participants, full of energy, walked briskly along the core areas of the factory. The route was lush with greenery and offered pleasant scenery, fully reflecting the vibrant, new outlook of XEMC’s development.

With unceasing steps and unwavering determination, all participants completed the walkathon route after nearly an hour of joyful walking, successfully accomplishing the full walking task. The event fully demonstrated the optimistic, upward-striving, and pioneering spirit of XEMC’s workforce. Everyone expressed that they would carry this vitality and drive into their work, contributing to the company’s high-quality development with healthier bodies, fuller enthusiasm, and a more united stance, marching forward hand in hand toward the centennial goal.
