The drum surface functions as the motor's rotor, while the drum shaft remains stationary, acting as the stator. ·Thus, the motor is the drum and the drum is the motor, enabling more direct transmission and a more compact structure.

With the implementation of the new GB 38755-2019 Guidelines for Security and Stability of Power Systems, requirements for short-circuit capacity and inertial support at new-energy stations have risen sharply. Flywheel Energy Storage System

Flywheel energy storage constitutes a physical energy storage method, harnessing the kinetic energy inherent in a rotating body to store and release electrical energy. This conversion between kinetic and electrical energy is achieved via an electric motor/generator coaxially mounted with the flywheel assembly. When operating as a motor, the drive unit accelerates the flywheel rotor, converting input electrical energy into stored kinetic energy. When operating as a generator, the drive unit decelerates the flywheel rotor, converting stored kinetic energy back into electrical energy for output. The acceleration and deceleration of the drive unit are controlled by a dedicated control unit.
